Overview
The Machining Engineer works in the Production Engineering Team and is responsible for engineering functions related to CNC Machining. This generally includes but is not limited to; consultation, generation and maintenance of CNC code, set-up documentation, process instructions, design and procurement of tooling, fixtures and procurement of supplier designed equipment when necessary. Responsibilities include daily production-maintenance support, continuous process improvement and new business implementation.
Principal Accountabilities
- Responsible for managing machining process design through end-of-life
- Maintain and develop robust machining processes
- Support and manage predictive maintenance of CNC related equipment
- Select, develop and request appropriate gages, fixtures and ancillary tooling necessary to facilitate the machining of production components that meet specifications
- Production problem analysis; determine defect root cause and pursue both interim and permanent counter-measures
- Monitor and direct process improvement
- Proficient in 2D/3D CAD for design of tooling, fixtures & weldments related to CNC machining
- Support new and existing business through selection of capable equipment & ancillary tooling
- Development of comprehensive CNC code and documentation processes
- Responsible for completing assignments as well as documenting scope of work, maintaining timelines and financial data
- Create/review process instructions and associated standards
- Schedule and implement ECN's as needed
- Lead/support Kaizen activities and continuous improvement plan
Qualifications
- 5+ years of CNC machining/programing experience
- Degree in Engineering; experience will be considered in lieu of degree
- Fanuc knowledge
- Broad knowledge of CAD/CAM, G&M-Code, and macro based programming
- GD&T
- Contractor development
- Proficient in Windows Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
- Prior experience working with Kaizen or Continuous Improvement work teams

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
