Position Summary
Cenergy is seeking a Water Management Project Lead to support drilling and completions operations in the Bakken. The successful candidate will coordinate frac-water sourcing, temporary water-line routes, contractors, permitting, safety and daily field execution.
This role requires 8+ years of oil and gas industry experience, including 5+ years managing water resources for drilling and completions or hydraulic fracturing operations. The candidate must be comfortable working outdoors, coordinating simultaneous operations and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced field environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate contractor crews and water-transfer service providers to complete field activities safely and efficiently.
- Oversee contractor safety, conduct safety meetings and reinforce HSE expectations.
- Manage water-transfer operations supporting frac spreads and D&C activities.
- Ensure water of sufficient quantity and required quality is available for scheduled operations.
- Identify water-transfer routes throughout the Bakken and help vendors establish temporary routes from source locations to job sites.
- Support the procurement of water-sourcing agreements and rights-of-way for temporary water lines.
- Track water volumes used and verify documentation for each operation.
- Measure and document pipeline footage installed across landowner property.
- Perform quality-control inspections of temporary water lines and installations.
- Permit water sources and water wells through applicable underground water districts.
- Review upcoming jobs and schedules requiring water-transfer operations.
- Identify scheduling conflicts and coordinate solutions with project leads, contractors and vendors.
- Attend weekly planning meetings and communicate field requirements and changes.
- Compile invoice trackers, line sheets and other project documentation.
- Maintain accurate operational records and continue identifying technology and process improvements.
- Support safe simultaneous operations in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements and landowner agreements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of oil and gas industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of water-management experience supporting drilling and completions operations.
- Direct experience coordinating water transfer for hydraulic fracturing operations and frac spreads.
- Experience managing contractors and vendors in a field environment.
- Experience working during simultaneous operations.
- Familiarity with rig contractors and related oilfield service providers.
- Strong knowledge of field safety requirements and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead by example, accept feedback and influence others effectively.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to navigate a dynamic, fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
- Experience working in a multinational or multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience with SAP is preferred.
- Safety and regulatory training consistent with company standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to protecting the health and safety of all personnel involved in client activities.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate degree or higher in a technical, business, quantitative or related field is preferred.
- Equivalent field experience may be considered.
- Experience with Bakken operations, temporary water pipelines, water source permitting, landowner coordination or rights-of-way is highly desirable.
