Overview
We are seeking a Junior or Mid-Level Data Engineer to join our team within the financial sector. The ideal candidate will have a background in data analysis, software development, data ETL systems and financial industry domain knowledge. A working knowledge or experience working with Claude Code or equivalent is highly desirable as well.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and refactor efficient big data ETL pipelines in Apache Airflow.
- Optimize and expand existing python-based data analysis code base.
- Develop multiprocessing/multithreading/highly-performant data ETL and analysis applications
- Develop and enhance Data Quality code base and standards for Financial Industry data sets.
- Provide data support to stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and timely project updates.
- Stay abreast of emerging data engineering trends and technologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of our data practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of specific educational requirements.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Python and 2+ years with SQL in a professional setting
- Experience in Git, Linux
- Experience in processing and managing large datasets
- Knowledge of financial industry data, particularly in areas such as security reference data, end-of-day pricing, and trade/quote data. Primarily focused on Equities, Futures and Fixed Income.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across different departments and teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail, especially in performance tuning and optimizing data workflows.
- Certifications in AWS, Data Analytics, or similar technologies are a plus
- Claude Code and Agent experience is a plus.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
