Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The purpose of this role is to assist with the service, maintenance, repair, and installation of cable and umbilical equipment for JDR and its customers. State side and International travel required.
- Assist in the installation, integration, commissioning, repairs, testing and reporting of IWOCS Equipment, at both on and offshore locations as required.
- Lead level position with the ability to lead crews both on site and offshore and prioritize work flow.
- Work under limited to no supervision.
- Promote teamwork and take an active part in meeting customer's service requirements.
- Assist with training of lower level technicians.
- Pressure testing hydraulic systems up to 25,000psi.
- Fluid cleanliness testing.
- Proof testing of electrical umbilical's and associated terminations.
- Swaging and crimping of hydraulic and pneumatic hoses.
- Interpret and understand both JDR and customer supplied drawings.
- Notify both JDR and the customer of any changes in procedure.
- Ensure that all paperwork regarding each job is completed in a timely manner. This requires site reports, expenses, test sheets, etc.
- Must be available to make offsite/offshore trips on an on call basis with durations lasting up to 28 days or more.
- Ensure contact with Service Support staff is maintained while offsite, also ensure project managers are informed of progress on a regular basis.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in an efficient and timely manner with safety as a priority.
- Promote safety awareness and comply with all applicable safety procedures and regulations.
- Comply with the local policies of customers, which apply to each site visited.
- Assist in the training of others
- Meet all required competencies for technician level.
- Keep current on training modules as well as work towards gaining competencies.
- Supports the Company initiatives to gain and retain ISO 9001, 14001 and OSHA 45001 accreditations.
- Maintain a professional bearing at all times and actively promote JDR products and services to customers whenever possible.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications
- Technical Qualification in a Mechanical and/or Electrical field.
- Minimum 0 - 10 years of experience in a hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical role.
- Possess a understanding of IWOCS and offshore rig operations.
- Must have a legal driver's license.
- Possess knowledge of cables and umbilical equipment.
- Certifications for offshore work required.
- Meet all competencies as defined by technician level description sheet published by HR.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for 8 -12 hours at a time.
- Employee may need to regularly lift, pull, push or move up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, pulling, fine manipulation skills using hands, arms, shoulders, back and legs.
- Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled shop and be exposed to all types of weather while working offsite.
- Have the ability to use a computer, read written content in paper form or on a computer screen, type using a keyboard.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and in person.
- Must be able to write notes and make drawings either by hand or using a computer.
- Vision - Near and Far vision, the ability to distinguish differences in color and ability to adjust focus.
