Buckeye Power Sales has been providing on-site power solutions for businesses, contractors, engineers, municipalities, and homeowners since 1947, which makes us the oldest Kohler generator distributor in the country. We are also a distributor of Siemens Energy engines and generators for a wide range of power generation applications such as combined heat and power, waste to power, prime, and continuous. Our Residential and Light Commercial Generator Sales Rep are responsible for:
- Developing and retaining quality contractors/electrical supply houses/etc.to provide residential sales and support
- Account and territory management
- Performing sales calls in person, over the phone, and via e-mail
- Developing a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face-to-face cold calling, direct mail activities, and networking
- Managing selling activities to optimize and sustain sales performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction
- Working with customers to sell, inform, resolve problems, and answer questions
- Seeking and continuously developing knowledge and information about competitor activity, pricing, and tactics, and communicating this to relevant Company staff
- Following up on quotes and selling benefits of choosing BPS
- Working with Application Engineers to prepare sizing reports and specifications when needed
- Working with appropriate team personnel on specifications and quotes
- Coordinating with other departments on the sale, delivery, and start-up of generators
- Providing ideas to the Marketing and Sales Manager that will help grow the product line
- Assisting the accounting department with payment collection when necessary
- Attending sales seminars, sales meetings, or educational activities to stay up to date on the latest developments, trends, regulations, and products in the marketplace

Requirements:
- Conforms to the core values of BPS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 18+ years of age
- 2+ yrs industry experience preferred; working knowledge of engines & electricity may be acceptable
- 2+ yrs experience in sales desired
- Demonstrates the ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision-makers
- Able to read, analyze & interpret engineering specifications, documents & regulations
- Valid driver's license and ability to maintain insurability through company insurer
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent listening skills
- Above average math skills; able to calculate discounts, gross profit, and percentages
- Strong presentation skills and ability to influence others
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Capable of preserving confidential and sensitive material
- Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task required
