We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery, and expertise in DBT (Data Build Tool) for data transformation and modeling. The ideal candidate will possess advanced SQL skills, a solid understanding of data warehousing principles, and working knowledge of Python for automation and scripting. This role also requires leadership experience and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines within the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem, with a primary focus on BigQuery.
Develop, manage, and optimize DBT models to transform raw data into clean, validated, and well-documented datasets.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, reporting, and analytics.
Architect and support enterprise-scale data warehousing solutions that prioritize performance, scalability, and reliability.
Partner closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline performance issues while ensuring data quality and integrity.
Automate operational processes and data workflows using Python where appropriate.
Implement and maintain data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to team members and project stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership experience in data engineering or related technical initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
6-8 years of experience in Data Engineering or a comparable role.
Expert-level SQL skills with the ability to develop efficient, scalable, and complex queries.
Strong proficiency in DBT for data modeling, transformation, testing, and documentation.
Hands-on experience with BigQuery and other GCP data services.
Solid understanding of modern data warehousing concepts, architectures, and best practices.
Basic to intermediate proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and workflow support.
Experience with version control systems such as Git.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $39.86/hour - $62.29/hour. Our offered benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
