Join our team as an Independent Contractor QC Specialist for a forthcoming drilling campaign in Williston, ND starting Q1 - 2025. This role involves overseeing inspections, ensuring equipment compliance, and maintaining safety standards. We require a minimum of 5 years' experience, Level II NDT certification, and expertise in drilling tools and industry standards (API, ASNT, ASME).
Location: Williston, North Dakota
Schedule/Duration: 5/2 schedule for an indefinite length of time. Client will start drilling campaign in Q1 - 2025
Status: Independent Contractor / 1099
Reports To: Project Coordinator
Roles & Responsibilities:
Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Witness inspections and testing according to inspection test plans, quality plans, industry standards, supplier, and customer requirements.
- Ensure inspection, measurement, and test equipment is calibrated/certified and meets job-related requirements.
- Validate technician certifications are current for the intended scope of activity.
- Act as the Customer Representative, maintaining professional relations with suppliers regarding scheduling, deliveries, and overall job execution.
- Generate comprehensive reports documenting acceptance and rejection of inspections and testing activities.
- Communicate job progression and inspection results promptly to the coordinator and customer as required.
- Promote safe work practices, including compliance with PPE requirements and Supplier safety protocols.
- Adhere to PPI Quality Management System and its documented information.
- Meet or exceed HSSE objectives of customers and suppliers and comply with PPI safety guidelines.
Minimum Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience preferred; minimum of 5 years required.
- Level II NDT Certification(s) from an accredited body or completion of Level II NDT Training and compliance with PPI NDT Qualification Written Practice.
- Profound knowledge of (Drill Pipe, BHA, Mud Motors, Drilling Jars, MWD/LWD, OCTG, Wellheads, Engineered Equipment, Drilling and Completion Tools, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of third-party inspection processes (NDE, FAT, Assembly, etc.).
- Familiarity and experience with industry quality standards and codes (API, ASNT, ASME, NACE, DS-1, etc.).
Desired Qualifications:
- TWIC Card holder.
- American Welding Society (AWS) - Certified Welding Inspector certification.
- National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) certification CIP Level II (or greater).
