The MuleSoft Integration Developer/Architect is responsible for many aspects of all systems within the Enterprise Integration Services Product, as well as mentoring and guiding the larger Enterprise Integration Services team on best practices, standardization, CI/CD, automation, observability, error handling, technical documentation, solution architecture, and Architecture Board Reviews as requested.
In the MuleSoft Integration Developer/Architect role, you will be responsible for administrative duties for peripheral systems in our development environments. This includes supporting the environments used for quality assurance and development by configuring, deploying, and monitoring the applications and servers. The application administrator provides 1st level technical support troubleshooting and problem solving for software development teams.
Essential Duties
- Technical Design Document capturing MuleSoft functional and nonfunctional details utilizing Integrations design templates; RAML definition for all interfaces.
- Leads the design and architecture of Integration solutions that are in alignment with policies and standards of the organization while understanding the client environment and unique restrictions that may exist.
- Develop and Unit Test MuleSoft Applications checked into the department's code repository and deployed through Continuous Integration toolchain into development and test environments and relying on mUnit framework for validation of developed artifacts.
- Establish mUnit framework and associated quality assurance processes to support validations of MuleSoft assets developed.
- Assuring adherence to security, audit compliance, and error handling requirements.
- Actively participate in scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily scrum, sprint review/product demo, and sprint retrospective).
- Resolution of tasks and defects within the project backlog.
- Conduct design walkthroughs, code reviews, and technical coaching.
- Design and Development of Anypoint Exchange Policies and Configurations.
- Create and update the operational Run Book.
- Troubleshoot and perform Root Cause Analysis of complex end user and server problems.
- Manage Service and Problem tickets within established SLAs.
- Act as a consultant to smaller IT projects system configuration.
- Maintain configuration and automation required for building QA and development environments.
- Ensure proper backup coverage and monitor backup quality.
- Use development tools and languages (including JAVA) as necessary to efficiently support and troubleshoot systems.
- Recommend, request, and tune system monitoring.
- Enforce/apply security policies.
- Learn and apply new systems and system administration techniques and tasks.
- Acts as a conduit to production operations for underlying global server configuration.
Job Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 year’s experience in a Senior Mulesoft Developer/Architect+ role.
- Proven history of increasing responsibility in API integration roles.
- Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Strong understanding of the platform, with the ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, workflows, custom views, Apex classes and other content of advanced complexity.
- Experience building REST and SOAP-based APIs using Mule ESB flows with API-led connectivity architecture.
- Experience administering CloudHub 2.0
- Experience administering applications hosted on Unix (any variant) required.
- Proven demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements.
- Proven ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption.
- Proven documented history of successfully driving projects to completion.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce.com best practices and functionality
- Strong data management abilities.
- Strong project management stills a plus.
- Experience deploying Java applications strongly preferred.
- Experience with PeopleSoft and Canvas a plus.
- Experience working with educational organizations and/or educational technologies a plus.
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited institution in information technology discipline (Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred) or equivalent experience.
Certificates, licenses, and registrations
- MuleSoft Developer Certification - Level 1 Certification - Required
- MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect - Level 1 certification – Preferred

- Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro.
