We are looking for an experienced Well Testing / Production Testing Supervisor to take charge of AutoBooST units on client wellsites.
The role builds directly on a surface well-testing background and gas compression proficiency: you will be managing produced fluids, measuring and reporting rates, optimising well performance and running a wellsite crew - with the addition of a compression and gas-injection package that you will learn to operate through IPS training.
You will be IPS's on-site lead and the day-to-day interface with the client's production team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead rig-up, pressure testing, commissioning and start-up of AutoBooST units and associated surface equipment on wellsite
- Supervise well unloading and kick-off of the target well, and manage flow-back to the production line or test package
- Operate and monitor the surface testing spread when deployed: separator, flow lines, sampling points and measurement instruments
- Measure, record and report oil, gas and water rates; take samples and perform basic field measurements (BS&W, gas gravity, salinity) as required
- Analyse production response to gas injection and adjust injection rates in coordination with the client's production engineers to optimise oil recovery
- Operate the unit's gas compression package under IPS procedures: start-up, shutdown, ESD testing and routine adjustments
- Monitor unit performance via the onboard control system, respond to alarms and carry out first-line troubleshooting of process, mechanical and instrumentation issues
- Prepare daily reports, end-of-job reports and incident/near-miss reports
- Manage the wellsite crew, rotations and daily work planning; coordinate maintenance and spares with the IPS technical support team
- Enforce IPS and client HSE requirements: permit-to-work, risk assessments, JSAs, gas detection, H2S procedures and SIMOPS coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client's site representatives; support technical meetings, HAZOP action close-out and audits
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 7 years' oilfield experience, including at least 5 years in surface well testing or production testing, with a minimum of 2 years at supervisor level
- Thorough knowledge of well-test operations: separator operation, flow measurement (orifice, turbine, Coriolis), sampling, flaring and flow-back
- Practical understanding of well performance and artificial lift, ideally including gas-lift principles (injection rate vs. production response, unloading, gas-lift valves and mandrels)
- Comfortable operating PLC/HMI-controlled equipment and interpreting process trends and alarms
- Proven ability to lead a crew on rotational assignments and to interface directly with client representatives
- Technical diploma or engineering degree in petroleum, mechanical, process or instrumentation disciplines, or equivalent field experience
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Valid driving licence
Certifications
- Valid HSE inductions and medical fitness certificate
- Gas compression or artificial lift training is an advantage
Preferred
- Experience with gas-lift optimisation, compression packages or remotely monitored production equipment
- Familiarity with operator standards and permit systems in the GCC or North Africa
- English / Arabic
What We Offer
- A key role in deploying a new artificial-lift technology with a growing international footprint
- Full IPS training on the AutoBooST compression and injection system
- Direct involvement in commissioning and field trials, with visibility to senior management and clients
- 35/35 rotation with paid travel, accommodation and full field logistics
- Opportunity to progress into a fleet or operations lead role as deployments expand
