POSITION: PAINTING / PFP PREPARATOR
PURPOSE OF THE SERVICE
The role exists to ensure quality in preparing and carrying out assigned tasks, in line with HSE requirements and company and international specifications, while keeping cost and lead times under control to meet production priorities. It also ensures that contractors fully comply with safety and environmental procedures.
HSE SERVICES
- Take an active part in preparing and analysing the work (RLO, ARO, ADC, etc.) while following the group's HSE rules.
- Lead by example and report all anomalies.
- Take part in applying and following up HSE actions.
- Check that HSE certificates of all site personnel are valid (medical certificate, BST, HUET, etc.).
- Check that the working area is fit for the work.
- Check that HSE equipment and installations are fit and in working condition.
- Check that resources and regular emergency response drills are adequate and available.
- Participate in the HSE committee and the company's emergency response organisation.
- Report incidents, anomalies, unsafe acts, near misses, spills, damage, injuries, etc.
- Analyse and investigate any accident or incident and start the resulting corrective actions.
- Issue relevant NCRs (non-conformance reports).
TECHNICAL SERVICES
- Implement company policies and rules across contractor teams, especially the company's HSE Management System (HSEMS).
- Manage and supervise many different construction activities at the same time, including basic structure and piping, industrial construction for new projects or modifications, and repairs to existing equipment.
- Apply clear policies and general rules to keep the construction team coherent and consistent.
- Manage a team of construction supervisors from different disciplines and organise the work.
- Manage planning and resource allocation between disciplines and contractors, ensuring compliance with procedures, specifications and remedial actions.
- Generate alternative approaches and start construction solutions.
- Give clear instructions and responsibilities so team members can do their jobs with confidence.
- Make sure the team understands that, besides quality and good engineering practice, planning, deadlines and cost are a permanent concern.
- Arbitrate between disciplines, with the overall benefit of the project as the only criterion.
- Maintain good relationships with contractors, staying flexible but strict when needed to reach project goals.
- Keep team motivation and morale high.
- Liaise with the Safety, Cost, Planning and Administration sections to improve team effectiveness.
- Liaise with and support vendor and contractor representatives for site surveys and work visits.
INSPECTION AND CONTROL SERVICES
- Inspect and control the execution of the work in every respect: procedures, specifications, safety and environmental protection.
- Detect potential problems, issues or concerns early so delivery schedules and work planning are met.
COMMUNICATION SERVICES
- Act as the link between the company's construction department (EPT) and field operations.
- Liaise with vendors and contractor representatives for site surveys and work visits.
- Liaise with the staff responsible for HSE, costs and planning.
- Liaise with the company's subcontractor to coordinate availability and suitability of equipment.
- Participate in regular progress and site coordination meetings.
- Report on the activities of construction contractors from all disciplines (piping, structural, scaffolding, instrumentation, electrical, painting, etc.) at those meetings.
- Issue a final report for each SERVICE.
