Job Summary:
Mission Veterinary Partners is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support the organization’s data-driven operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing data infrastructure, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to meet business needs. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in cloud-based solutions and a passion for improving data systems in veterinary practices.
Travel required: Intermittent, less than 25%
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:

Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.

Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources.

Ensure the data infrastructure is flexible, scalable, and aligned with best practices in data engineering to accommodate the organization’s evolving needs.

Monitor and improve data quality, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data throughout the data lifecycle

Collaborate with data stewards, data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to define data standards, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) that meet business needs.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering professional growth within the team.

Effectively communicate complex technical concepts and outcomes to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with both relational and non-relational databases.

Proven expertise with data modeling, data warehousing concepts, data integration, and ETL/ELT techniques.

Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go).

Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

Experience with GIT for version control.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience with Microsoft Fabric (e.g., Synapse Data Engineering, Data Factory).

Experience developing WebSocket and RESTful APIs.
Required Education and Experience:
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles, with proven expertise in building scalable data systems.

Previous experience in the veterinary or healthcare industry is a plus.
