We are seeking a part-time engineer with a solid understanding of geotechnical engineering, soils, and construction materials testing to support project review and technical oversight. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys applying practical engineering judgment and wants flexible, part-time work.

Responsibilities

Review and provide guidance on geotechnical reports, soil investigations, and recommendations
Evaluate soil classifications, compaction requirements, and in-place density testing results (e.g., nuclear gauge, sand cone, proof rolling observations)
Reviewlaboratory and field testing data related to soils, including moisture-density relationships (Proctor testing)
Provide technical input on concrete testing, including:
Compressive strength test results (cylinders)
Slump, air content, and field observations
Offer engineering judgment related to foundations, earthwork, site preparation, and construction quality control
Collaborate with team members to ensure work aligns with applicable standards, specifications, and sound engineering practices

Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license (required or strongly preferred)
Background or experience in geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing
Familiarity with soil density testing, lab testing procedures, and concrete quality control
Strong technical judgment and ability to interpret testing results
Ability to work independently and communicate clearly
