Lyle DC is seeking a hands-on, proactive, and experienced
Chief Engineer to lead all aspects of engineering, maintenance, and facility operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the hotel's physical assets are fully functional, safe, and aligned with brand standards while delivering a high level of guest and team satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the Engineering team, including hiring, scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Oversee maintenance and repair of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and all hotel systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, etc.).
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, fire safety, and building codes.
- Partner with leadership and contractors on capital projects, renovations, and equipment upgrades.
- Maintain detailed documentation for inspections, work orders, and regulatory requirements.
- Respond promptly to guest and operational maintenance needs, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Monitor energy usage and implement sustainability practices to improve efficiency.
- Participate in hotel leadership meetings and contribute to operational planning and guest experience.
- Be available for emergencies and support the team during off-hours when needed.
Qualifications- 5+ years of engineering or facilities management experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with BMS (Building Management Systems) and energy-saving technologies.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- EPA Universal Certification and/or relevant trade license(s) preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotation.
