EGS is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer is to support ongoing civil design work in the Engineering directorate to support our customer at Mission Test and Support Services in Las Vegas, NV. The candidate will provide support to design projects in the construction phase to ensure deconfliction of issues along with development of design documents. If required, the candidate will be responsible for development and configuration management products and discovery of existing conditions. The candidate will ensure requirements are traceable and transparent throughout the project lifecycle, including design, construction, procurement, startup and turnover to operations. Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to civil engineering design.
Responsibilities:- Plan, organize, and coordinate civil engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering projects.
- Generate designs related to water distribution systems, water supply, sewage collection, distribution, and treatment, grading and drainage, and pavement evaluation and design.
- Conduct construction document reviews.
- Generate and review the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations, and specifications.
- Preferred design software experience Include Microsoft Office Suite of applications, Flowmaster, Culvertmaster, and Hydrologic Engineering Centers River Analysis System (HEC-RAS).
- Familiarity with MicroStation/InRoads computer aided drafting applications is required.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, related phases of engineering, and field experience in the inspection of construction projects.
- Nevada Professional Engineer License, or ability to obtain through alternate state reciprocity, required.
