This role ensures audit work is completed accurately, exceptions are resolved, and documentation aligns with applicable regulatory requirements and internal control procedures. The position also supports reconciliation, reporting, and coordination with Finance leadership and external auditors.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: - Provide leadership and direction to the audit teams in Reno and Las Vegas, ensuring consistent execution of audit processes across both locations.
- Train, develop, schedule, and evaluate audit team members; provide coaching and corrective action when necessary.
- Oversee the daily operational workflow of the audit department to ensure timely completion of assigned audit activities across multiple gaming areas.
- Develop, implement, and maintain departmental SOPs, checklists, audit forms, and workflow tools to support accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Evaluate and improve cash handling and reconciliation procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Establish and maintain departmental standards for documentation quality, review procedures, communication expectations, and exception handling.
- Ensure all audit processes align with applicable NGCB Internal Control Procedures (ICPs) and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a working understanding of the Company's internal control environment and ensure audit processes operate within those controls.
- Review and validate audit documentation submitted from route operations to confirm accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal procedures and regulatory standards.
- Oversee reconciliations related to gaming revenue, liabilities, and other financial accounts supported by the audit team, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up on discrepancies.
- Communicate recurring issues, exceptions, or operational concerns to the VP of Finance.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Cage Operations, Route Operations, Finance, Compliance, and other internal partners to support effective issue resolution.
- Assist the Controller in preparing journal entries and supporting documentation for revenue and clearing account reconciliations.
- Lead investigations into discrepancies identified through audits, including documentation issues, procedural gaps, and system-related variances.
- Coordinate with external auditors by preparing requested documentation and participating in interviews and walkthroughs.
- Provide ongoing guidance, direction, and oversight to audit personnel to ensure completion of daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities in accordance with departmental standards.
- Ensure departmental compliance with company policies, internal controls, NGCB regulations, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Deliver timely and professional communication and support to internal stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- Minimum 5 years of gaming or revenue audit experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Experience developing and overseeing audit processes, documentation standards, or departmental procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in accounting, finance, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Occasional travel to Reno is required to support audit operations and team oversight.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
- Proficiency with standard office equipment and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; ability to operate a ten-key.
- Ability to work with numerical data, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required work cards and licenses.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
