About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and management of cloud-based data pipelines for risk data feeds. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data engineering, strong proficiency in Python, R, and SQL, and proven experience deploying and optimizing data workflows in the cloud. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and timeliness of risk data delivery across our platforms. We are looking for an individual with a proven passion for solving problems. We need a clear and straightforward communicator, as we’ll be building some intricate products as a team so clarity and details matter. Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines in a cloud environment.

Ingest, transform, and curate structured and unstructured data from multiple external and internal risk data providers.

Collaborate with data scientists, risk analysts, and technology teams to ensure high-quality data delivery and accessibility.

Develop automated processes to monitor, validate, and ensure the integrity of risk data feeds.

Optimize data storage and retrieval strategies to meet business and compliance requirements.

Lead cloud infrastructure deployment and configuration related to data pipeline operations.

Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.

Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy for the data platform.
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

5-7+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on building and maintaining data pipelines.

Hands-on expertise in Python, R, and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.

Significant experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native data tools.

Proficient in working with large-scale data systems and ETL frameworks.

Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data quality frameworks.

Practical experience with data relevant to financial markets, equity factors, and portfolio analytics is highly desirable.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:

Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, AWS Glue).

Knowledge of data security, encryption, and regulatory compliance in financial data environments.

Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Located in or willing to relocate to the NYC area and report to the office in-person at least 3x a week with exact schedule dependent on business needs.

The compensation for this role is market competitive with a base salary range of $175,000-$225,000. We intend to offer the selected candidate a base salary within this range, based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to skill set, job-related experience, and location. In addition, we offer an annual discretionary incentive bonus and competitive employee benefits including: medical, dental and vision coverage; life, accident and disability insurance.
