This role supports the documentation, tracking, and execution of agreements, invention disclosures, and IP records, helping bring Janelia technologies to the public efficiently and responsibly.

What You'll Do:- Track and manage agreements (e.g., MTAs, NDAs, licenses, collaborations, and options) and coordinate signatures and deadlines.
- Prepare MTAs and Research License Agreements.
- Maintain accurate records for invention disclosures, IP filings, and agreements using Sophia and internal databases.
- Coordinate with legal and finance teams on license execution, compliance, invoicing, revenue tracking, and royalty distributions.
- Prepare patent assignment documents and ensure documentation is complete and inventor signatures are secured.
- Generate reports on IP activity, financials, and compliance metrics.
- Provide guidance to Janelia researchers on innovation policies and procedures.
- Maintain the integrity of the Sophia database and train and assist others to use it.
- Track royalty income and determine revenue distribution.
- Track legal invoices and reimbursements from licensees and pay invoices.
- Support Director, Janelia Innovations and Open Science, with other administrative duties as needed.
What You Bring:- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years in tech transfer, legal support, or equivalent research administration role.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and database platforms.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and follow-through skills.
- Strong attention to detail; paralegal experience is a plus.
