Mid-Continent Group is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Information Technology team. The successful candidate will perform solution development and delivery working both independently and as part of a team. This position will develop ETL’s, Reports, and data pull requests using tools like Informatica, Tableau, SQL Server, and Snowflake environments. This individual will work a hybrid schedule from our downtown Tulsa office.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Analyze business requirements and legacy reports to drive new development utilizing 3rd party development tools, SSIS, and SQL Server.
Interface and communicate with business customers and team leads for scope, estimates, requirements, and project deliverables.
Interface with the various information technology groups, as needed, for source-to-target mappings and reporting interfaces.
Work with DBA's, as needed, to manage schema changes.
Create and maintain production support documentation.
Use project management and systems development life cycle methodologies to achieve on time results.
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide system support outside of normal working hours.
Job Requirements:
Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in an IT related discipline or equivalent experience.
Generally, 6+ years of experience in complete data warehouse lifecycle development process.
Experience with data migration initiatives and data warehouse concepts (cubes, star schemas, etc.), experience with front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Informatica, Tableau, Power BI, Cognos, and other cloud technologies.
Solid analytical skills and ability to examine requirements, re-engineer existing processes, envision new concepts and deliver complete reporting solutions.
Hands-on experience with a modern reporting tool such as Tableau or Power BI working with a backend Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) development and/or Snowflake or other cloud solutions.
Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Experience working in an Agile environment and knowledge of Azure DevOps is preferred.
