About the roleThe company is seeking a Lead Solutions Engineer with relevant experience to join the team in Warrenton, Virginia. The position will report to the Director of Engineering. It represents an exceptional opportunity for a result-driven individual to perform a critical role in a fast-growing market. This role includes sales demonstrations and technical problem solving focused on customization, delivery and support to the end customer.
Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations - Collaborate closely with the sales and product teams to deliver hands-on technical support during system installations, demonstrations, and field trials
- Lead and execute field testing and validation of DroneShield systems in diverse operational environments
- Plan and manage all aspects of field deployments, including logistics coordination, pre-deployment system testing, on-site setup, and technical support
- Deliver Tier 1 to Tier 3 technical support, both remotely and in the field, with a high degree of independence and professionalism
- Lead and mentor a small team of field and support engineers to ensure consistent, high-quality execution
- Provision, configure, and perform quality assurance checks on all hardware and software components prior to customer delivery
- Act as a trusted technical liaison to customers, capturing operational feedback and translating it into actionable insights for the engineering team
- Maintain and improve system documentation, configuration records, and support materials to ensure repeatability and continuous improvement
- Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies relevant to your domain to ensure high performance and adaptability in your role
Qualifications, Experience and Skills - Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering or a related technical field (required)
- Proven experience in a technical customer-facing role such as Systems Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Equipment Installer, or Technical Support Specialist
- Strong hands-on experience with networked systems and device installations, particularly in field environments
- Proficiency in Linux-based systems, including configuration and troubleshooting of networked devices
- Experience working with RF systems, telecommunications equipment, or complex sensor integrations is highly desirable
- Prior experience in Counter-UAS (C-UAS), Electronic Warfare, or defense technology environments is highly valued
- Demonstrated ability to independently install, test, and support multi-component technical systems
- Strong leadership skills, with experience leading or mentoring small technical teams
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate under pressure in high-stakes environments
- US Citizenship (required due to the defense-related nature of the work)
- Active Security Clearance preferred; ability to obtain one is essential
