SummaryResponsible for the technical oversight of shop services projects. Provide technical and engineering support during the inquiry-to-order and execution phases of turbomachinery service projects based on turbomachinery OEM/O-OEM design, repair experience (design, engineering analysis, risk and IP control, BOMs, drawings, specifications, inspection procedures, and repair procedures) for all types of projects.
Roles and Responsibilities- Foster an environment of teamwork, compliance and continuous improvement.

- Ensure compliance with department's standard operating procedures.
- Review customer specifications for shop services projects and develop the shop services scope.
- Ensure that correct input data, engineering codes and industry/company standards are used and adhered to where applicable.
- Support Supply Chain with technical deliverables and attend technical supplier audits; assist in technical procurement control.
- Develop inspection and testing plans for shop services and engineering study projects.
- Prepare cost estimates for technical and engineering projects, when required.
- Lead intellectual property (IP) clearance checks.
- Perform or facilitate reverse engineering of O-OEM turbomachinery equipment.
- Manage technical communications with customers.
- Ensure appropriate level of engineering is provided to the business for each phase of the project to meet company/industry standards.
- Ensure all engineering deliverables are prepared and issued in a timely manner.
- Prepare technical inspection and repair recommendations' reports for any assigned projects.
- Attend regular project, design review and additional technical meetings with internal and external clients.
- Generate and manage inspection and repair processes and procedures to guide production teams.
- Perform or facilitate fixture and tool design to support production teams.
- Conduct research and testing to develop repair techniques and applications for turbomachinery equipment.
- Lead root cause failure analyses on assigned projects.
- Provide engineering support for field service operations, when required.
- Adopt and refine the company's procedures and/or develop new engineering procedures that are appropriate for assigned projects.
- Support the business in developing recommended spare parts lists for turnaround and similar projects.
- Arrange evaluation of technical data and proposals from material, equipment and service providers when required.

Requirements- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in turbomachinery (steam turbine, centrifugal compressor) inspections and repairs
- Basic knowledge of rotor dynamics, metallurgy, aerodynamics, solid mechanics, steam turbine and centrifugal compressor fundamentals
- Ability to calculate/conceptualize basic problems relating to stress, flow, vibration, etc.
- Strong initiative and desire to learn new skills and develop skillsets.
- Ability to work in a hands-on shop environment.
- Ability to work long hours and support planned and unplanned turnaround activities.
- Project execution, design and analytical skills.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Good knowledge of HSE fundamentals.
- Excellent MS Office Suite knowledge.
Preferred Skills- Proficiency in MS Office including MS Project.
- Minimum ten (10) years' experience in turbomachinery repairs.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
- Proficiency with Finite Element Method Analysis software.
- Demonstrated high personal productivity and motivation.
- Demonstrated ability to work with customers, shop, sales, suppliers, and procurement personnel in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands - Ability to stand for long periods of time and work in a shop environment.
- Ability to sit and work in front of a computer for majority of the day.
