PPI Quality & Engineering is currently seeking a Quality Control Specialist in Calgary, Alberta with upstream experience especially with OCTG, Premium Connections, Frac Sleeve and/or Completions Manufacturing.
Work Location: Calgary, Alberta
Length of Assignment: 6 month ad-hoc assignment
Target Start Date: July 14th
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Witness inspections and testing per ITPs, QPs, industry standards, supplier/customer requirements
- Verify inspection, measurement, and test equipment is calibrated and compliant
- Validate technician certifications are current and appropriate for the activity
- Represent the customer professionally with suppliers on scheduling, deliveries, and execution
- Generate clear and accurate inspection reports (acceptance/rejection)
- Meet or exceed HSSE objectives of the customer and supplier
- Communicate inspection progress/results to coordinator and customer
- Promote and follow safe work practices per site and supplier policies
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Level II NDT certification(s) or completed Level II training with compliance to PPI's NDT Written Practice desired
- Experience with Frac Sleeve and/or completions manufacturing
- Experience with OCTG and Premium connections
- Technical understanding of OCTG, Wellheads, Drilling/Completion tools, Premium Connections
- Strong grasp of third-party inspection processes (NDE, FAT, assembly, etc.)
- Familiarity with industry standards (API, ASNT, ASME, NACE, DS-1, etc.)
- Adequate verbal/written communication and basic computer skills
- Willingness to work long hours/weekends if required
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years in third-party inspection
- 5+ years in the oil & gas industry
