Job Summary:
The Enterprise Applications Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying business solutions using Microsoft Power Platform tools, Power BI, Fabric and Agents. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to understand requirements, building efficient and scalable solutions, and providing ongoing maintenance and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Design and Development:
- Manage Power BI Administration tasks such as Gateways, connections, workspaces, publishing Apps, granting, and controlling user access, creating roles and row level security etc.
- Design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models to support business decision-making.
- Build and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (including Dataflows Gen2, Lakehouses, and Pipelines).
- Develop and publish Paginated Reports using Power BI Report Builder and integrate them into Power BI Service.
- Optimize data models for performance and usability in Power BI.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data refreshes, report performance, and data quality issues.
- Stay current with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric updates and best practices.
Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
Integration and Data Management:
- Integrate solutions with other Microsoft 365 services and external systems.
- Manage data sources and connections within the Power Platform.
- Ensure data security and compliance.
Testing and Deployment:
- Conduct thorough testing of Power BI solutions to ensure quality and functionality.
- Deploy solutions to production environments and provide post-deployment support.
Maintenance and Support:
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support for Power BI solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI applications and workflows.
