Mechanical Engineer/Estimator
Fiberglass Fabricators, Inc.—a manufacturer of fiberglass structural components for water and wastewater applications—is looking for a motivated engineering associate to join our management team.
Responsibilities
· Perform initial engineering overview of external contract drawings and specifications to generate estimates for bid.
· After bid is won, support the creation and revision of drawings and calculations for customer approval.
· Once job is approved, create additional assembly drawings and basic CNC programs necessary for manufacturing.
· Coordinate with manufacturing supervisor to maintain QA/QC during the manufacturing process.
· Ensure communication and coordination with the customer throughout the process.
Job Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural Engineering or other closely related field.
· Ability to perform basic to intermediate structural engineering calculations of stress, strain, deflection, and safety factors of beams.
· Minimum of 2 years of AutoCAD experience is required. Experience with Solidworks or other 3D modelling is preferred.
· Knowledge of drafting standards and terminology. Ability to read, interpret, and filter large drawing packages to find relevant information.
· Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically creating, updating, and maintaining Excel spreadsheets.
· Must be an energetic and hands-on problem solver who is self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing and prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously.
· Familiarity with common thermoset resin systems, including polyester and vinyl-ester is preferred.
· Familiarity with common manufacturing tooling design and development is preferred.
· Experience with CNC programming and/or operation is preferred.
· Detail oriented and organized to ensure accuracy and quality.
· Work hours TBD. All work Monday-Friday at facility
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
