About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our HR Technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing internal HR applications related to employee shifts, locations, and work schedules. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data engineering, AWS ecosystem tools, and process automation to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and scale HR workflows.
- Analyze existing HR applications and workflows related to employee scheduling, shift management, and location tracking.
- Identify pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation.
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines to support HR operations and analytics.
- Automate manual processes and optimize current workflows using AWS-native tools and technologies.
- Develop and maintain data models, ETL processes, and data lakes/warehouses for HR data.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across HR systems.
- Collaborate with HR stakeholders, software engineers, and business analysts to deliver efficient data-driven solutions.
- Drive innovation by adopting the latest AWS tools/technologies for system optimization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or backend engineering.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala for data transformation and pipeline development.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, S3, and Step Functions.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, schema design, and workflow automation.
- Experience in building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and data lakes.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience working on HR or workforce management systems.
- Familiarity with workflow optimization and cost reduction strategies in cloud environments.
- Knowledge of data security and compliance standards for HR systems.
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI).
Past industry experience in HR technology or enterprise workforce solutions preferred.
