Job SummaryThe Scientist position at BioLegend plays a vital role in the company's success in developing legendary research products for customers worldwide. In this role, you will drive new product development and contribute to generating SOPs that maintain ISO compliance.This position involves joining our chemistry team to develop fluorescent dyes and other chemicals through close collaboration with biology groups. Success in this role requires candidates with a proven track record of problem-solving, both independently and in team environments, along with demonstrated leadership capabilities.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Design and synthesize novel polymer and small organic fluorescent dyes for flow cytometry and imaging applicationsDesign and synthesize dyes with enhanced properties and performance characteristicsSynthesize chemical probes currently offered in BioLegend's product portfolioIdentify new materials, methods, and applications related to dye chemistry and dye conjugation that support company business objectivesReview scientific literature and contribute to new product development initiatives and scientific discussionsDevelop SOPs and lead protocol transfers to manufacturing teams, including training manufacturing associatesCollaborate with diverse Product Development and Process Improvement teams that support manufacturing productionSupervise associates and junior scientists in dye design projects and provide people management. Generate accurate reporting of project statusGenerate accurate project status reports and documentationComplete additional projects and responsibilities as assignedMinimum Qualifications - Education and ExperiencePh. D's Degree in organic chemistry or polymer chemistry with >3 years post graduate work experience2+ years of hands-on experience with semiconducting polymer synthesis, condensation polymerization2+ years of hands-on experience with water soluble polymer synthesisPreferred Qualifications - Education and Experience3 years industrial experience for dye designThe base salary range for this full-time position is$115,000 - $120,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company.
