GEA Group, located in Columbia, MD, is searching for a Service Technician to join our team. Our Service Tech is responsible for disassembling, cleaning, and inspection of rotary atomizers in the workshop and at customer facilities. He/she will also machine parts on the mill and lathe and balance of shafts.
Responsibilities:
Inspect, troubleshoot and repair high-speed machinery.
Travel to spray drying facilities in North America to provide instructional training and also to inspect and repair high speed machines.
Write inspection reports and field service reports.
Assist customers by telephone when requested.
May be required to manufacture or assist in manufacturing processes to provide parts and assemblies for high-speed machines and related equipment using manual mill, lathe, and / or drill press, etc
Operate dynamic balancing machine.
Your Profile / Qualifications
Qualifications:
Strong mechanical background.
Must be able to read and understand instruction manuals, assembly drawings, and machining drawings of machine parts.
Must be familiar with hand tools and basic machine shop equipment including but not limited to mill, lathe, drill press, etc
Must be familiar with precision measuring instruments.
Must be able to travel on short notice within US, Canada, and overseas.
Must be able to work with chemicals and cleaning solvents associated with machine repair.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $30.00 - $36.00 per hour. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.
The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards, such as discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
