Rental Equipment Sales Manager - Power Generation Curtis Power Solutions Richmond, VACompensation based on experience and skills ranging from $110,000 - $130,000 base with monthly incentive opportunities Curtis Power Solutions is expanding our rental generator business across the Mid-Atlantic. We're hiring a sales-led, player-coach to build pipeline, lead a rental sales team, and grow utilization with bundled, high-reliability temporary power solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Own revenue, pipeline, and pricing strategy for rental power across all segments (construction, industrial, healthcare, water/wastewater, data centers, utilities/outages, emergency response, government, events).
- Lead, coach, and scale a rental sales team; set territories, activity standards, forecast rhythm, and deal reviews.
- Prospect and close new accounts; expand key accounts, including large power node deployments and multi-site agreements.
- Conduct site walks, basic load calculations/sizing; craft bundled proposals (generators + distribution/ATS + fuel/monitoring + technical support).
- Coordinate cross-functionally with rental dispatch, service techs, logistics/fuel partners, accounting/billing, and equipment sales for on-time, on-budget delivery and great CX.
- Stand up and maintain rate cards, SOPs, bundling checklists; enforce CRM and forecast discipline; lead QBRs
What You'll Sell:- Generator sets with emphasis on 300-2,000 kW.
- Load banks, temporary distribution (cable/boxes/ATS), mobile switchgear.
- Fuel tanks with monitoring; field services/technical support.
Commercial Authority & Targets: - Manager-owned rates within margin guardrails; discretionary discount authority per CPS policy (exceptions require SVP approval).
- Utilization: drive fleet >65% sustained (focus on 300-2,000 kW).
- Revenue: Year-1 target aligned to fleet capacity and ramp (set internally).
- Pipeline health: ≥3× coverage; rising quote-to-close with disciplined stage management.
Qualifications- 5-10 years in power generation/equipment rental sales with field deployment familiarity.
- Working technical knowledge: amps, cabling, transformers, temporary distribution, basic load calculations.
- Strong commercial acumen (pricing, utilization, OP) and logistics literacy (rigging, freight, fueling).
- Builder mindset: can implement rate cards, SOPs, and playbooks while coaching a team.
- Bonus: relationships in construction GC, healthcare/utility, wastewater, and data-center segments; Salesforce/Dynamics experience
