JOB PURPOSE
The QA/QC Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming and outgoing materials and products, as well as overseeing production procedures. Key duties include reviewing Material Test Reports (MTRs), providing drawings and specifications to suppliers, performing dimensional inspections of components, testing assemblies, documenting defects, and managing manufacturing and quality assurance processes. In addition to these quality responsibilities, the role supports Order Management by coordinating with suppliers, tracking orders, and assisting with logistics to ensure timely and accurate product delivery.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all processes required for the Global Quality Management System (QMS) are established, implemented, and maintained.
- Provide oversight of the QMS across engineering and manufacturing locations.
- Coordinate with external parties on all QMS-related matters, interfacing with customers and vendors regarding quality concerns.
- Schedule and conduct internal and third-party audits, and implement corrective actions as required.
- Investigate product quality issues and recommend improvements to manufacturing processes.
- Monitor production compliance with QA standards and procedures, and report QMS performance and improvement needs to the company and Supplier Management.
- Collect, analyze, and report data during management reviews.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting across all departments.
- Ensure compliance with company production, safety, and quality procedures.
- Develop and update QMS procedures to support proper documentation and investigation of complaints.
- Monitor and enhance risk-management processes, analyze problem logs, and report recurring issues to management and product development teams.
- Provide training and support to the QMS organization on systems, policies, procedures, and core processes.
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams regarding order status and delivery schedules.
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends, drive improvements, and report key metrics to management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven strong organizational and scheduling skills.
- Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and API Q1.
- Understanding of basic oilfield practices and applications.
- Experience creating and implementing manufacturing support documentation related to materials, welding, coatings, and heat treatment.
- Experience maintaining a QMS compliant with API Q1/ISO 9001 and/or API Q2.
- Minimum of 5 years of technical management experience with downhole tools.
- Ability to perform dimensional inspections of parts.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and tolerances.
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
