About the Role
Cyient is seeking a Quality Notification (eQN) Project Engineer to support Pratt & Whitney programs. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to build experience in aerospace quality, project coordination, and engineering operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The position is primarily onsite in Middletown, CT, with periodic support in East Hartford, CT. The eQN Project Engineer supports the execution, coordination, and closure of electronic Quality Notifications (eQNs) related to nonconforming hardware that requires engineering review.
An eQN is generated when a manufactured component does not meet blueprint or specification requirements and must be evaluated for acceptability. In this role, you will help manage eQNs from initiation through closure, working closely with engineering, quality, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to ensure accurate tracking and timely resolution.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role well suited for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn while working with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and manage assigned eQNs from initiation through closure in accordance with established processes
- Load new eQNs, maintain data accuracy, and update tracking tools and reports
- Coordinate engineering tasking with delivery teams and Module Center Points of Contact (POCs)
- Review and track engineering dispositions and follow up on open actions
- Monitor eQN aging and escalate potential delays or risks as needed
- Prepare and present routine status updates for internal stakeholders and customers
- Assist with the closure of eSRIs (Electronic Supplier Requests for Information)
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supplier teams to support on-time hardware delivery
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and workflow efficiency within the eQN process
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (0–2 years of relevant experience)
OR
- Associate’s degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience
Skills & Capabilities
- Interest in quality, project coordination, or engineering support roles
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working with cross-functional engineering and operations teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills preferred
Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications
- Exposure to aerospace or manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
- Basic understanding of GD&T
- Experience supporting supplier or quality-related issues
