Data Engineer

Position Summary
The Data Engineer serves as a consultative technology partner to the business, responsible for designing, building, and optimizing data and automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and decision-making across the organization. This role exercises independent judgment and advanced technical expertise while working directly with senior stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify automation and data optimization opportunities.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical architecture and solutions.
- Architect, build, and optimize structured data pipelines and reporting environments using Azure SQL, Power Query, and related data technologies.
- Implement and manage automation platforms in collaboration with vendors or internal teams, including Power Automate, Monday.com, Workato, and Power BI.
- Experiment with AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot to identify practical, scalable use cases.
- Assess feasibility, limitations, and risks of AI-driven solutions, escalating mature ideas to specialized tools or applications when appropriate.
- Promote responsible, compliant, and business-aligned use of AI across workflows.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, automation, or business-facing technical roles.
- Advanced experience with relational databases (e.g., Azure SQL) and data transformation tools.
- Experience implementing business process automation platforms.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Private Equity, financial services, or regulated environments
- Experience with Power BI reporting environments
- Exposure to enterprise AI/ML implementations
- Experience supporting executive-level stakeholders
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
Primarily office-based work requiring prolonged computer use and the ability to sit for extended periods.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $130,000 – $140,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
