The Opportunity
The Data Platform Engineer role partners directly with our Data Architect to continue developing, governing, and expanding our Microsoft Fabric and Power BI data environment.
This role provides hands-on engineering, operational discipline, monitoring, and enablement required to turn our Datahub into a reliable, scalable, and well-governed platform that the business can depend on.
This is a platform engineering role focused on implementing standards, CI/CD, observability, data validation, documentation, and business enablement across the Fabric-based Datahub, with Power BI report generation as needed. This is a remote opportunity.
What you'll do

Build and maintain data pipelines and transformation workflows within Microsoft Fabric

Implement version control and deployment processes for PowerBI/Fabric artifacts

Establish observability across data pipelines (failures, latency, data quality)

Develop data validation and reconciliation processes for payer and operational reporting

Partner with analysts and business teams to enable governed self-service analytics

Work with DBAs and application teams to trace lineage from source systems to reporting layers

Translate architectural standards from the Data Architect into repeatable engineering practices

Provide technical directions to offshore data resources

Optimize performance and cost of Fabric workloads

Support audit, compliance, and documentation requirements for data flows
What we expect from you
-
3+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform engineering, or cloud data infrastructure

Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as dbt, Airflow, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar
-
Experience with monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Datadog (preferred) Grafana, Splunk, AppDynamics)

Strong SQL and Python skills

Experience with CI/CD, version control, and infrastructure-as-code concepts

Understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and validation techniques

Experience working in Azure (preferred), GCP, or AWS environments

Strong documentation and cross-team communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience working with healthcare payer data, particularly claims, eligibility, and insurance-related datasets.

Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or PowerBI administration

Experience with Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes

Experience working alongside data architects to implement platform standards

Experience working with offshore development teams

Familiarity with healthcare data, claims data, or payer integrations

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $105,000-$135,000*
