Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and seasoned Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate must have hands-on CNC machine shop floor experience, strong mechanical engineering knowledge, CNC aerospace machining and fabrication knowledge and experience, strong ability to read and decipher dimensional parts blue prints/ CAD models in order to create manufacturing shop floor travelers as well as proficiency in tools like AutoCAD, and GD&T.
Responsibilities:
- Reading dimensional blue prints for machined and fabricated parts and developing the manufacturing planning documents/shop travelers for various projects. Must have knowledge of CNC machining, special processing/plating requirements, inspection and hardware installation requirements to produce such manufacturing shop travelers.
- Utilizing "JobBoss" (ERP) software to create shop travelers for manufacturing of the parts.
- Performing contract review of customers' new orders, review of customers' blue prints/ CAD models, specifications and manufacturing requirements before creating shop travelers.
- Performing support MRB (material review board and familiarity with RCCA (root cause and corrective action) disciplines.
-Developing and implement continuous improvement plan for manufacturing department.
- Utilizing mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement
- Providing any and all other technical support for the CNC machining and manufacturing requirements for various projects.
Skills:
- Strong hands-on shop floor CNC machining and fabrication knowledge.
- Extensive experience and familiarity with CNC machining of aerospace metal alloys, including exotic alloys.
- Ability to create with ease manufacturing planning documents/ shop floor travelers upon review of blue prints and CAD models.
- Strong mechanical engineering background with knowledge of GD&T.
- Ability to read dimensional blue prints and CAD models in order to create manufacturing planning documents/ shop travelers for parts machining requirements.
- Knowledge of aerospace plating/ processing, painting, heat treating and other finishing requirements for mechanical parts.
- Experience in root cause analysis and process engineering.
- Knowledge of using "JobBoss" software or similar ERP software in order to create shop travelers for manufacturing of the parts.
- Knowledge and experience with offering cost effective manufacturing methods for CNC machining and fabrication of parts.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles for process optimization
