Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Repair, Stress and Damage Tolerance Engineer to join our innovative aerospace team. Duties
- Use classical hand calculations, finite element models, and other software tools to determine aircraft structural loads and stresses.
- Prepare technical documentation including reports concerning stress analyses, repair/alteration instructions, as well as drawings.
- Provide the expertise, including all stress analysis, designs, instructions, and regulatory approvals, to respond to customer, vendor, or maintenance inquiries due to structural discrepancies such as damage, workmanship errors, or differences in aircraft configuration.
- Apply OEM technical data, STC technical data and regulatory requirements in the development of structural repairs and alterations.
- Prepare non-technical documentation including statements of work, quotes, proposals, and templates.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related Engineering field and five years of post-degree work experience in aerospace mechanical engineering.
- Expertise in finite element analysis (FEA), structural analysis (FD&T), and mechanical knowledge relevant to aircraft structures.
- Familiarity with federal aviation regulations (FAR) and other related aviation safety standards.
- Experience in developing repair and other engineering documentation for aircraft modification and repair.
- Work experience required with conducting static strength analysis, fatigue and damage tolerance and certification of repairs and modifications.
Pay: $70.00 - $95.00 per hour
