Structural Engineer (PE)

We are seeking a licensed Structural Engineer (PE) to join our growing team and contribute to a diverse portfolio of local, state, and federal infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex design challenges, and wants to play a visible role from concept through construction.
You’ll work alongside multidisciplinary teams, interact directly with clients, and help deliver high-quality structural solutions for critical projects.
What You’ll Do
Engineering Design & Analysis
- Design and analyze above-ground and below-ground structural systems
- Prepare and oversee development of engineering drawings and construction documents
- Utilize CAD/BIM platforms including AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, and OpenBuildings Designer
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and resolve design interferences across structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, and signal systems
- Evaluate impacts of field and design changes on critical structural elements and communicate recommendations to project leadership
Project Leadership
- Serve as Lead Engineer on small to medium-sized projects
- Participate in project meetings and collaborate directly with clients, contractors, and partner firms
- Support project delivery through strong technical leadership and communication
Construction & Field Support
- Perform field inspections and construction observations
- Prepare clear and concise inspection reports
- Review shop drawings and respond to contractor RFIs during construction
- Work closely with construction managers to address field conditions and design deviations
- Provide practical engineering guidance that supports informed construction decisions
Business Development Support
- Assist with proposal development, scope definition, and estimating level of effort for new opportunities
What You Bring
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) License
- 5–10 years of structural inspection and design experience
- Experience supporting local, state, and federal engineering projects
- Familiarity with finite element analysis software
- Proficiency with:
- AutoCAD
- MicroStation
- Revit
- OpenBuildings Designer
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to perform on-call inspections when needed
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
