Job#: 3038257 Job Description: Business AnalystLocation: South San Francisco, California (Remote) Role OverviewAs the Business Analyst for the MES Project Team, the candidate will serve as the core requirements management expert and the translator between manufacturing operations and technical development teams. This role's primary mission is to establish clear, high-quality upfront scope definitions to prevent schedule delays, scope creep, and extended development timelines that can result from incomplete user requirements. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop a deep knowledge of the relevant pharmaceutical manufacturing processes by listening to user needs and identifying process gaps.Identify process gaps and author well-documented requirements or manufacturing process updates that are clear, verifiable, consistent, and traceable.Act as the single accountable person for ensuring an appropriate level of requirement flexibility versus stability, verifying that all changes are agreed to by relevant stakeholders.Proactively manage requirements to prevent rework, scope creep, budget overruns, and schedule delays.Utilize prototypes and demonstrations during the planning phase to evolve and discover requirements when clear upfront definitions are not available.Lead and manage the end-to-end Joint Application Development (JAD) lifecycle to accelerate project timelines.Plan and facilitate collaborative JAD sessions, bringing together stakeholders, developers, and users to define requirements and design solutions.Act as a translator between manufacturing and technology, clarifying operational needs to ensure alignment between users and developers.Foster open communication and immediate feedback during sessions to reduce misunderstandings and enhance final product quality.Establish and define clear success criteria before every JAD session to keep participants focused and streamline decision-making.Required QualificationsExperience: Experience in a Business Analyst role, particularly with MES projects and requirements management. Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes is needed.Technical Skills: Experience with Joint Application Development (JAD) facilitation and leadership.
