Subsea & Topside Control Engineer to join
Eni Muara Bakau B.V. in
Jakarta,
Indonesia. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, manufacturing, installation, integration, testing and commissioning of control systems for both topside and subsea equipment within the Subsea Production System package. You will contribute to the safe and successful operation of these control systems throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with project objectives, engineering requirements and industry best practices.
Your employment contract will be managed by Eni International Resources Ltd (EIRL).

Main responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the project team and supervise suppliers to develop control system designs that meet project specifications, safety standards and regulatory requirements for offshore operations.
- Supervise the design and integration of control panels into the existing DCS and HMIs for topside and subsea equipment.
- Oversee supplier activities to optimise control system performance and reliability during offshore operations.
- Prepare functional design specifications, control narratives, and control system architecture diagrams specific to the offshore project.
- Work closely with vendors and contractors to procure control system components and ensure their integration into topside and subsea equipment.
- Participate in the evaluation of vendor proposals and technical specifications related to control systems.
- Verify that control system components meet project requirements and are suitable for offshore operations.
- Oversee the installation and integration of control system equipment, ensuring compliance with project standards and guidelines.
- Ensure that suppliers develop preventive maintenance programmes for topside and subsea control systems throughout the project duration.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure proper handover of the equipment.
- Support the Cost Estimation team during cost and schedule assessments.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements specific to offshore operations.
- Participate in safety reviews, risk assessments, and hazard identification studies related to control systems in the offshore environment (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS).
- Contribute to the development and implementation of safety procedures and emergency response plans for offshore activities.
- Ensure the performance, installability and operability of the subsea systems.
- Select the most technically and economically viable solutions for the subsea system architecture, ensuring overall technical integrity.
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards by adhering to company policies, the HSE Integrated Management System and related procedures; promptly reporting all incidents; and encouraging staff and colleagues to follow HSE rules and best practices.
Skills and experience required:
- Strong knowledge of control system design principles, instrumentation and automation technologies within the offshore oil and gas industry.
- Proven experience with topside and subsea control systems, particularly during the execution phase.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in oil and gas project execution.
- Experience in managing professional personnel.
- Professional background as a Company Yard Representative for offshore structure construction or as a Company Field Engineer aboard a construction/installation vessel; experience in fast-track projects is an advantage.
- Knowledge of structural design for FPU brownfield modifications.
- Fluency in English.
