Job Duties
- Supervise the Directional Drilling (DD) process on site, ensuring accurate projection of the well path to the target coordinates.
- Use specialized software for DD, assisting in the analysis and technical advice to the client during operations.
- Perform well survey and route projection calculations, updating profiles and providing accurate data to the client.
- Assist in preparing the daily directional drilling report.
- Assist in completing the Lower Drilling Assembly (BHA) performance report for each run.
- Complete service tickets and technical documentation such as well data sheets, lessons learned, customer satisfaction surveys (CSSs), and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Maintain detailed records of DD equipment, ensuring organization and conservation in accordance with internal procedures.
- Work closely with the MWD engineer to ensure BHA compatibility and operating parameters within specifications.
- Inspect equipment received for DD use and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Apply technical knowledge to the assembly of the BHA, including torque, lubrication and proper handling.
- Be attentive to customer requirements regarding directional survey procedures.
Qualifications
- Completed higher education in Petroleum Engineering or related areas.
- Active registration with CREA.
- Intermediate English.
- Proven experience in directional drilling, BHA assembly and real-time data interpretation.
- Ability to read and interpret well plans, directional surveys and technical site information.
- Technical profile aligned with industry standards.
- Good communication, arithmetic skills and attention to data entry and recording.
