A leading Technology / Low Voltage Services company is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Design Engineer to help serve our rapidly growing Multifamily / Mixed use construction market in California. The company is headquartered in Carlsbad, CA and we have many active projects underway in the Orange County, Inland Empire, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Northern California.
This will be a 100% remote based position and will start as a Part-Time and / or 1099 role. This will not be a boring 9-5 position but rather very flexible on timeframes throughout the week. The most important factor will be completing the assigned tasks on time with the upmost professionalism for our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with project design team (architect, electrical engineer, etc) to review and document project requirements and setup design base files (Autocad) based on provided design templates
- Update design to include core Low Voltage requirements i.e. MPOE / IDF locations, conduit and cabling requirements, etc
- Add all core Low Voltage systems components to the designs i.e. cctv cameras, access control devices, intrusion alarm devices, etc based on provided system design standards
Qualifications (Must Haves):
- Autocad guru a must
- Enjoys a professional, but mostly fun work environment
Qualifications (Ideal):
- Understanding of construction plans and CAD backgrounds as it relates to commercial / residential construction
- Some Low Voltage Design Experience very helpful but not 100% mandatory (we will train up the right person if we see the desire to add this skill set quickly and effectively)
- Knowledge and experience of low voltage structured cabling and conduit structures
- General working knowledge of systems designs as it relates to Access Controls, CCTV, Intrusion Alarms, ERRCS, Data (IT) systems, and Structured Cabling
- Ability to interact professionally with subcontractors, architects, and other industry professionals
- Ability to read construction drawings and related plan sets
- Excellent communication skills (all formats) which includes establishing positive relationships with customers
