Electrical Engineer Position Summary
NCX Corporation, an innovative company developing next generation X-ray tubes and systems for medical and security applications, is recruiting candidates for an Electrical Engineer position. Reporting to the R&D Director for X-ray tube development, the Electrical Engineer will support the development of X-ray tubes with design concepts and documentation, and other contributions as part of the Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be a strong utility player that is able to take on a diverse set of tasks and work with all departments in the organization.
Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for managing prototype and final designs for both internal and customer development projects. Essential job duties that must be performed with proficiency include:
· Design and support electronic needs for X-ray tubes including creation of electronic controls, testing of electrical circuits (up to 225kV), development of data/imaging acquisition systems, etc. and coordinating NCX internal electronics activities/projects
· Establish prototype and final product specifications for both internal and external projects. Expectation is you will be the point person for interacting with external customers and be able to discuss technical feasibilities with them.
· Plan and manage budget and schedule for projects; Define and execute lab tests; Assemble, test and evaluate prototypes / products
· Coordinate development of drawings with CAD engineer; check/release drawings
· Coordinate efforts for electronics development and manufacturing with NCX partners and suppliers
· Be part of the NCX technical sales team including potentially representing the company at conferences and trade shows.
Qualifications
· BS or MS in technical science (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Physics, material science) with 5+ years working experience or PhD with 2+ years working experience
· Proficient in standard electronics development tools (PCB design, CPLD/FPGA design, VHDL/Verilog programming etc.)
· Expertise in high voltage technology and/or vacuum technology preferred
· Expertise in fast medium/high voltage switching circuits preferred
· Project management experience including development and management of budgets
· Ability to lead and work with teams
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
