Manufacturing Engineer
Responsible for the development and maintenance of accurate processes for a group of major composite aerospace products. Additional duties include technical sales and marketing of company capabilities in the non-metallic and bonding areas. Performs administrative functions with respect to established policies, procedures and methods, recommending changes to improve product quality, reduce costs, and improve product flow lines. Performs engineering functions with respect to established policies, procedures and methods, recommending changes to improve product quality, reduce costs and improve product lines.
Requirements: BS Engineering - Minor in Chemistry, Polymer Science or related preferred. Experience with SolidWorks preferred and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provides technical support to sales and marketing team.
· Works to expand AGC’s market share in composite commodities, through a variety of means such as customer technical presentations and sales calls.
· Reviews and analyzes proposals submitted to determine if the capacity and capability is available to meet customer requirements and benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures.
· Maintains accurate and up to date manufacturing documents (i.e. operation sheets, BOM's. etc.) for the production floor to manufacture end-item products to meet customer delivery requirements.
· Aides and coordinates the activities of engineering staff assigned.
· Ensures appropriate communication and interaction with production floor personnel in order that technical issues are addressed in a timely and complete manner. Supports non-conformance system for engineering disposition and root cause analysis and corrective action.
· Instructs manufacturing supervisors and/or lead hands on correct manufacturing methods.
· Assists tool room, when needed, on new tool and design fabrication and rework techniques.
· Ensures new tooling is designed and fabricated on time to produce products and meet customer delivery requirements.
· Confirms that root cause analyses and corrective action have eliminated sources of failure.
· Assists estimating department with quoting of complex processes and tooling.
· Conducts a continuous search of new materials, processes, and procedures to enhance and improve the product lines. Prepares new equipment requests with justifications.
