Data Engineer (1099, 9-Month Contract)
Hourly Rate: $70 - $80 Per Hour
Fully Remote
The Data Engineer will assist with an ongoing effort to converge legacy systems onto an existing system’s Azure PaaS cloud environment. In doing so, you will help architect a common data model, establish data pipelines, implement ETL solutions, and create SQL views, stored procedures, and functions as needed. You will work with a team that follows the Scrum Agile framework.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform data engineering work including implementing ETL solutions, creating data architecture documentation, and establishing data pipelines.

Adhere to Scrum Agile principles.

Take direction and guidance from the Senior Data Engineer.

Document architecture and SOPs.
-
Document processes, data flows, and technical decisions for internal and client use.

Assist in designing and implementing ETL pipelines using Azure cloud tools including Data Factory and Logic Apps.

Support data ingestion from structured and unstructured sources.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:

US Citizen
-
Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance

A BS or MS degree in an IT related field (Data Science, Data Analytics, or Computer Science).

3 years of experience with data modeling.

Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.

Advanced SQL knowledge and experience.
-
Knowledge and experience scripting in a programming language, such as Python and C#, for data transformations.

Experience collaborating with senior engineers to implement data models and optimize performance.

Experience monitoring and troubleshooting data workflows, ensuring reliability and data quality.

Experience in developing data pipeline solutions.
Desired Qualifications:

Experience with Azure DevOps.

Experience in Azure Government Cloud.

Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps).

Experience implementing no-code and low-code solutions.

Experience building customer facing user interfaces.

Experience working in the Scrum Agile framework.
