This role is responsible for understanding business needs from an end‑user perspective, translating those needs into clear, actionable requirements, and ensuring solutions are effectively designed, tested, and delivered in an agile environment. The Business Analyst serves as a liaison between business and IT, supporting both project‑based initiatives and ongoing operational needs, with a strong focus on process efficiency, system effectiveness, and regulatory compliance within MPL insurance products. What You’ll Be DoingServe as a primary liaison between business partners and cross‑functional technology teams, advocating for business objectives while balancing technical considerationsElicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements, user stories, use cases, and process flowsFacilitate requirements workshops and stakeholder discussions to align on scope, priorities, and outcomesTranslate business requirements into clear acceptance criteria and execute or support user acceptance testing with full traceabilityPerform analysis and provide ongoing support for policy rating, issuance, and related insurance systems, ensuring alignment with business rules and state filingsIdentify opportunities to improve business processes, workflows, and system usage to increase efficiency and effectivenessClearly communicate findings, recommendations, risks, and progress to stakeholders at varying levelsDevelop and maintain process documentation, user guides, and reference materials as neededParticipate in and support small to large initiatives, balancing project work with operational supportAct as a subject matter expert for assigned product lines, systems, or business processesWhat We’re Looking ForProven analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to navigate complex business scenariosStrong experience gathering requirements, performing functional analysis, and documenting business processesAbility to prioritize and execute work independently in a fast‑paced, agile environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate between business and technical audiencesDemonstrated leadership skills, including influencing without authority and supporting cross‑functional collaborationInnovative, organized, and self‑motivated with a mindset of continuous improvementExperience & QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar roleExperience working within Agile or iterative delivery methodologiesStrong understanding of user acceptance testing and quality assurance practicesWorking knowledge of insurance concepts and policy administration systems preferred Apex Systems is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
