About the Role
SOLUT! is hiring a Product Development Engineer to support our continued growth.
This role focuses on developing new packaging solutions - from concept through production - working directly with customers, suppliers, and our manufacturing team.
You’ll take ideas and turn them into real products that go to market.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop thermoformed paper trays and plastic lids (PET/PP)
- Manage new product development from concept through validation and launch
- Translate customer requirements into manufacturable designs
- Lead prototyping, testing, and product validation (fit/form/function, compliance)
- Work with tooling vendors and suppliers on development and validation
- Partner with manufacturing to improve processes and reduce costs
- Develop product specifications and ensure compliance with food safety standards
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in packaging or product development
- Experience with paper and/or plastic materials preferred
- Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience working with manufacturing processes and tooling
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience
- Thermoforming (paper or plastic)
- TOPS / CAPE
- Food safety standards (SQF, GMP, HACCP)
- Adobe Illustrator
