The role involves managing cross-functional, high-visibility projects that often have legislative complexity, elevated risk, and high-profile stakeholders. The PMO is handling an increasing number of IT-related projects, requiring project managers to operate from both a technical and non-technical perspective. Key ResponsibilitiesManage projects from inception, sometimes before vendor selection, through the entire project lifecycle.Oversee both technical and non-technical initiatives, including process improvement, program restructuring, and system migrations.Lead cross-functional efforts to improve workflows, such as streamlining incident response for public health programs.Coordinate the replacement of legacy systems and the migration of data to new platforms.Develop and manage project plans, charters, and timelines, ensuring initiatives remain on track.Facilitate stakeholder communication, build trust through patient guidance, and hold teams accountable without micromanaging.Support the transition to new project management tools like Project for the Web.Work EnvironmentThis is a hybrid role with a minimum requirement of three days onsite in Oklahoma City. The work model offers a preference for on-site presence while providing some flexibility. Required QualificationsExperience:A minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience is required.Experience working within a government agency is strongly preferred.Experience with IT-related projects is helpful, though the role is not deeply technical.Skills & Competencies:A comprehensive understanding of the general project lifecycle.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.High adaptability and emotional intelligence, with the ability to perceive nuances in stakeholder interactions.A people-oriented approach with the ability to guide loosely defined concepts into clear, actionable plans.Proficiency with project management tools, with experience in Microsoft Project being relevant.Preferred QualificationsExperience in a healthcare-related environment is a plus.A formal project management certification (e.g., PMP) is beneficial.Experience supporting an agile mindset while ensuring sufficient upfront planning.This employer is an equal opportunity employer.
