Under the supervision of the principal engineer, the process engineer intern is responsible for updating the plant's P&IDs. He will work closely with the process technicians as well as a technical drawing firm. In addition, the process engineer intern will be required to work on various improvement projects that will be assigned to him.
He will also participate in the following daily or weekly meetings:
- Cause analysis (investigations of non-conformities in health and safety, environment, production, etc.)
- Change management (continuous improvement program aimed at mitigating the risks associated with change)
- Review of daily operations (review of key plant performances)
- Main responsibilities:
- Factory surveys of piping and instrumentation to identify changes to P&IDs;
- Review of P&IDs drawn in AutoCAD 3DPlant to ensure drawing validity and compliance with internal drawing standards;
- The intern engineer will be responsible for ensuring the communication bridge between the designers and the process technicians;
- Ensure compliance with deadlines and set objectives;
- Establish standards for technical excellence and growth in a continuous improvement approach (PDCA);
- Provide technical assistance for diagnosis during operational problems;
- Establish (alone or in collaboration with external engineers) the specifications for materials and equipment during projects;
- Assist in establishing budget forecasts and staffing requirements;
- Write technical reports and information notes;
- Any other related tasks;
Requirements:
- Bachelor's student in process engineering (Chemical or Biotechnological) OR in process engineering technology;
- Autonomous
- Organise
- Good communicator;
- Ability in problem solving and decision making;
- Ability to assess the impact of project management strategies on plant performance;
- Be comfortable working outdoors (rain, cold weather, winds, etc.)

Work environment:
Temporary internship of 12 months, where the incumbent will devote 40% of the time to monitoring field work and 60% to office work.
