Under the authority of the Quality Control Coordinator, the laboratory technician intern performs tasks related to the reception of used oil samples and routine analyses for the control of operations as well as the quality of finished products. He carries out analyses according to established rules and methods as well as the compilation and transmission of analysis results to the quality management computer system.
Main responsibilities:
- Prepare samples for analysis;
- Properly complete laboratory documentation;
- Perform equipment maintenance according to established procedures;
- Follow up on any abnormal results with the team leader;
- Perform various maintenance tasks in the laboratory (e.g. work areas, laundry);
- Participate in maintaining ISO standards of the Integrated Management System (IMS);
- Perform any other tasks that may assist the team leader and the Quality Control Coordinator.
- Requirements:
- Studying or graduating with a DEC (Analytical Chemistry Techniques) or a bachelor's degree in chemistry or with relevant work experience;
- Asset: Experience in a laboratory related to hydrocarbons;
- Knowledge of the Google suite (google sheet, google docs, etc.)
- Experience working with various analytical instruments including GC, ICP-OES, KF would be an asset;
- Be organized, autonomous and have a spirit of analysis and synthesis;
- Proactive; ability to work under pressure;
- Knowledge of Lean Management principles would be an asset.
