Position Summary:
Guilmette Middle School (grades 5-8) seeks a Building Based Educator (BBE) to support students' academic and social success in classrooms, WIN (What I Need) intervention blocks, and small-group or one-on-one settings. The BBE works with teachers, special educators, and multilingual learner staff to provide targeted instruction, reinforce skills, and create an inclusive, culturally responsive environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Support instruction in ELA, math, science, and social studies aligned to MA Curriculum Frameworks.
• Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce skills and reteach material.
• Collaborate with teachers to differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including MLs and students with disabilities.
• Use relationship-based and restorative practices to promote positive behavior.
• Monitor student progress and communicate with staff as needed.
• Supervise students during non-classroom times.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Understanding of middle school learners.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Ability to support multilingual learners and students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of restorative practices.
• Flexibility to work across grade levels and settings.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; minimum of an Associate's Degree required
• Excellent communication skills in English are required
• Bilingualism (Spanish) highly preferred
