Mechanical Engineer
BSME, MS Preferred
- Understanding product/process, change qualification and validation requirements.
- Lead structured root cause analysis (DMAIC, 8D, A3) for manufacturing and supplier issues.
- Use statistical analysis to evaluate process capability, variation, and trends (Cp/Cpk, GR&R, trend analysis).
- Support yield improvement, scrap reduction, and rework reduction initiatives in collaboration with Operations and Quality.
- Key participant in DFMEA, PFMEA, and CTQ processes assuring specifications are well defined and documented.
- Experience with Minitab or equivalent statistical tools, including DOE, GR&R, regression, and hypothesis testing.
- Strong working knowledge of process controls, inspection methods, and manufacturing documentation.
- Comfortable working directly with contract manufacturers and suppliers to resolve quality and delivery issues.
- Well versed in molding, stamping, and machining methods.
- Experience with managing Qualification and Validation of product/process changes and Equipment Qualification.
- Experience with prototype and mass production fabrication processes and techniques.
- Ability to take designs from concept through prototype and on to mass production.
- Practical application of Lean Six Sigma tools in manufacturing or sustaining engineering contexts (certification a plus, not required).
- Working knowledge of GD&T.
- Working knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA and Risk Tools.
