JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Project Architect takes the vision of the design team and leads the production team to create a biddable, buildable, code-compliant set of construction documents.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Prepare detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by architect.
* Monitor and oversee the construction documentation process including reviewing and approving shop drawings.
* Analyze building codes, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.
* Meet with external contacts including clients, contractors, and engineers to identify and resolve problems.
* Meet with internal contacts including designers, production staff, project managers and architect of record to clarify design intent and streamline documentation process.
* Perform site visits at the construction site to confirm compliance with construction documents.
* Review and comment on applications for payment and change order requests.
* Perform code analysis and develop code strategies.
* Mark up and review shop drawings.
* Perform other related duties as required.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in architecture; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
* 10 or more years of experience in Architecture required.
* Registered Architect License required.
* NCARB Certification preferred.
* AIA membership preferred.
* LEED AP BD+C accreditation preferred.

* Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.

* Leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to lead teams and interact with clients.
PHYSICAL FACTORS:
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
* Construction site visits occur frequently and may require walking on uneven, rough terrain at times.
WORKING REQUIREMENTS (Travel Requirements, Overtime, Shifts, On-Call, etc.):
* This position may require work outside of typical working hours in order to respond to/address any issues that arise.
* Minimal travel to job sites and client meetings is required.
