Position Overview
We’re seeking a highly experienced Senior Tool & Die Engineer to lead and manage all aspects of tooling and die operations within our Stamping Department. This role is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, repairing, and strategically utilizing tooling assets to ensure optimal performance and return on investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leadership to align tooling strategies with business objectives.
- Coordinate tooling design and development with domestic and Japanese suppliers.
- Analyze tooling utilization data to ensure efficiency and goal alignment.
- Oversee budgeting and funding for new and replacement tooling projects.
- Lead and support the die maintenance teams in preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Monitor and optimize inventory control and purchasing processes.
- Resolve team and customer issues effectively.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify growth opportunities for team members.
- Mentor and guide associates while maintaining discipline and team cohesion.
- Execute special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing, specifically in stamping and die maintenance.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience in tooling and die operations.
- Strong skills in tooling design, development, and cost analysis.
- Proven ability to manage teams and drive operational excellence.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in interpreting technical instructions and solving practical problems.
- Familiarity with basic algebra and geometry concepts.
- Bilingual in Japanese and English is preferred due to supplier collaboration.
- Experience in negotiating tooling costs and managing vendor relationships.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
